Project: Melbourne Prize for Literature 2021 / The Melbourne Prize for Literature is for Victorian authors whose body of published work has made an outstanding contribution to Australian literature and to cultural and intellectual life. My approach to branding the 2021 awards was inspired by how writers have the ability to perpetuate new ideas and broaden perspectives. I’m intrigued by how little control writers have over the reception of their work. Once published, their words flow outward and evolve as they spread, taking on an unpredictable life of their own. To visualise this intangible process I worked with abstract patterns created using inks and liquids.
